      <image:title>About - Real Talk for Real People.</image:title>
<image:caption>Hey there! I’m Wes (he/him). I’m so glad to meet you on your journey to healing. Look, I get it. Searching for the right therapist can be overwhelming. You have a lot of options to choose from, so why choose me? Rather than give you a list of my accolades, I’d rather just allow you to get to know me—the authentic me. Then you can decide if I’m the right fit for you. I became a therapist because going to therapy wasn’t an option when I needed it the most. Growing up as a second-generation Asian American kid in Los Angeles, mental health was not a top priority in my household. Being raised by parents who were born and raised in Taiwan, the mark of success was less about being happy, and more about achievement. In defense of my parents, they did the best they could with what they knew at the time. They were taught that good parenting meant providing their children with all of the necessary resources to ensure that they would be “successful” in life. Since education was the perceived road to success, no expense was spared to further my educational endeavors. Kumon, Mental Math, SAT courses, Mandarin Chinese classes, I was enrolled in it all. Unfortunately, when it came to my mental wellbeing, the primary advice I received was to stay focused on my studies, and to trust that it would all pay off in the end. As you can imagine, this was not the kind of support I was desperately needing. Consequently, I found myself struggling with bouts of depression and anxiety through junior high and well into high school. Whenever I summoned the courage to bring up my mental health needs to my parents, I was told that I worried too much. To stop it, let it go, and put that energy into my work. If only it were that easy. This pattern continued until I was well into college. By then, the mental and emotional distress had taken its toll. I had a college degree in a subject that looked great on paper, but meant little to me. I felt utterly lost in life. This was my turning point. In my quest to discover my purpose in life, I sought out guidance anywhere I could, initially gravitating towards self-help books (before the days of podcasts). Although these were a good start, I quickly realized that if I really wanted to feel in control of my life, I needed to go deeper. Insert therapy. This was it. With the help of therapy, I have navigated through a journey of self-discovery, forgiven my family, made peace with my upbringing, and have learned to lovingly accept and embrace my authentic self— the real me. My mission now is to help others do the same, to heal their past wounds, and embrace themselves with unconditional love. If you’re ready to love the real you, contact me today.</image:caption>

<image:title>About - I've sat in the chair you're sitting in. I know what it takes to actually get out of it.</image:title>
<image:caption>Hi, I'm Wes. Let me be straight with you about something that most therapists won’t admit. Even after 15 years in this field, imposter syndrome still shows up for me. I'm not immune to the same things I help my clients work through. That's kind of the point. I spent most of my early twenties trying to figure out who I was and what I actually wanted. I went down the marketing path because it made sense on paper. College, good grades, respectable career. I checked every box. And on paper, I looked fine. Underneath it all, I was lost, ashamed, and running from things I didn't fully understand. I'm a second-generation Chinese American from LA. My parents worked hard and sacrificed a lot. And like a lot of second-gen kids, I internalized their immigrant messaging early. Be strong. Work harder. Get good grades. Don't make waves. Don't show weakness. Stop being so sensitive. That programming runs deep. If you grew up in a similar household, you already know exactly what I'm talking about. What shifted everything was my journey through my own personal development and therapy. It was the first time I started questioning who I actually was. Not because I was following an unspoken script, but because I genuinely wanted to know. I stopped performing. I started being honest. I got into the real work, and it changed my life in ways I that I never thought were possible. So I made a shift. Left the business path and became a therapist. It wasn't the easiest or safest choice, but it was mine. And helping people make that same kind of turn, toward who they actually are, is what drives me every single day.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Unlocking Authenticity to Empower Lives: Hi, I’m Wes. It’s a pleasure to meet you on your journey. I’m a second-generation Asian-American from Los Angeles who broke free from the constraints of societal, cultural, and parental expectations to discover my authentic self. My mission as a therapist is to help others do the same, to re-discover their authentic self, and live life on their terms. From the Corporate Climb to Personal Fulfillment: In my mid-twenties, I shifted from a career in marketing to pursue a deeper passion, helping others prioritize their mental and emotional well-being. Leaving the corporate world to become a therapist allowed me to find purpose in making a meaningful, lasting impact on the lives of others. Healing and Self-Discovery: Through my personal journey of growth, I’ve witnessed the transformative power of healing past wounds. Therapy gave me the strength to uncover and overcome deep-seated traumas I hadn’t even realized were holding me back, allowing me to build a life beyond what I ever thought possible. Having experienced this transformation firsthand, I’m here to guide you through your own healing process. Tiger Parenting Survivor: As the child of Chinese immigrants, I deeply understand the effects of Tiger Parenting. I offer high-achieving individuals a safe space to process, heal, and grow from the pressures of high expectations and cultural demands. Embracing Your Authentic Self: Together, we’ll break free from the chains of perfectionism, cultural or familial expectations, and self-criticism. My goal is to help you embrace your true self and live authentically, free from the constraints holding you back. Resilience, Growth, and Empowerment: Join me on this transformative journey to connect with your true voice, create balance, and embody the freedom to live life on your terms. Let’s unlock the resilience and power within you.</image:caption>
