I've sat in the chair you're sitting in.
I know what it takes to actually get out of it.
Hi, I'm Wes. Let me be straight with you about something that most therapists won’t admit. Even after 15 years in this field, imposter syndrome still shows up for me from time to time. I’m not immune to the same things I help my clients work through. I’m a work in progress, same as you. Nobody has it all figured out. That’s not a disclaimer. That’s the whole point.
I spent most of my early twenties trying to figure out who I was and what I actually wanted. I went down the marketing path because it made sense on paper. College, good grades, respectable career. I checked every box. And on paper, I looked fine. Underneath it all, I was lost, ashamed, and running from things I didn't fully understand.
I'm a second-generation Chinese American from LA. My parents worked hard and sacrificed a lot. And like a lot of second-gen kids, I internalized their immigrant messaging early. Be strong. Work harder. Get good grades. Don't make waves. Don't show weakness. Stop being so sensitive. That programming runs deep. If you grew up in a similar household, you already know exactly what I'm talking about.
What shifted everything was my own therapy and personal development. It was the first time I started questioning who I actually was. Not because I was following an unspoken script, but because I genuinely wanted to know. I stopped performing. I started being honest. I got into the real work, and it has forever changed how I show up as a son, a husband, and a dad.
So, I made the move. Left the business path and became a therapist. It wasn't the easiest or safest choice, but it was mine. And helping people make that same kind of turn, toward who they actually are, is what drives me every single day.
Who I Work With
My clients are high-achieving professionals who look successful on the outside but are quietly running on empty. Entrepreneurs, lawyers, doctors, engineers, and executives who built impressive lives but feel disconnected from them. Second-generation AAPI adults navigating the tension between family expectations and their own path. Couples who are committed to each other but stuck in the same cycles. Dads who didn't have a healthy model for this and are figuring it out as they go.
What they all have in common: they've spent a long time putting everyone else first. Now, they're ready to invest in themselves.
My Approach
My style is direct and collaborative. We'll get into the deep work that actually matters, moving at a pace that respects where you are while still closing the gap to where you want to be. I help you understand your patterns and why they keep showing up. Together, we move through the stuck points, especially when you know what you want but can't seem to get there. And I help you connect the dots across your life so things click at a deeper level and turn into real, lasting change.
